William R. "Bud" Tate, 75, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in his home.He was born November 29, 1938, in Centerville, a son of the late Robert G. Tate and Pearl Settle Tate Lively.Mr. Tate served in the U.S. Army and was a farmhand for several Greene County farmers throughout his life.Surviving are his wife, Janet Hines Tate; a son, William R. Tate Jr. (Tina) of Waynesburg; four sisters, Edith Basile of California, Grace Booth of Waynesburg, Betty Kelly of Scenery Hill and Patricia Berlin of Irvine, Calif.; two brothers, Donald Tate of Carmichaels and Benjamin Tate of Waynesburg; and a special friend, Betty Tennant of Waynesburg.Deceased are a sister, Florence Filbey; a brother, James Edward Tate; and a special friend, Mona Thomas.Services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, in Taylor Cemetery, Centerville.
