Dennis "Denny" Michael Balogh Sr., 68, of Nemacolin, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep Friday, May 23, 2014, in his home.He was born August 22, 1945, in Nemacolin, a son of the late George and Mary Frances Artley Balogh.On July 29, 1972, he married the love of his life, Mary Lou Dickey, who survives.Mr. Balogh was the loving father of Melissa Balogh, Melanie (Olin) Trauth, Dennis Balogh Jr. (Lyndsay) and Jeffrey Balogh.Also surviving are two sisters, Sandra Yackmack Sutton of Kittanning and Georgiann (Jack) Klein of Punta Gorda, Fla.; brothers-in-law James Dickey, Joey Dickey and David (Susan) Dickey, all of Carmichaels; a sister-in-law, Suzanna (Rick) Gency of Chesapeake, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.Deceased is a brother, Richard "Dick" Balogh.He was a 1963 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served on the USS Wright during the Vietnam conflict.Mr. Balogh had worked at Nemacolin Mine for 17 years, until its final closing day in 1986. For the past 25 years, he was employed by the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He first worked at Western Center in Canonsburg, until it closed; he then transferred to SCI-Greene.He was a kind and compassionate man that lived each day for his wife and family. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Tuesday, May 27, in Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320, 724-966-5100, Paul M.
