Betty L. Day Gaus, 93, of Clarksville, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Lasosky's Personal Care Home, Clarksville.

She was born Sunday, January 16, 1921, in Sycamore, a son of the late Edward Day and Irene Kiger Day.
Mrs. Gaus was a member of Oakview United Methodist Church in Waynesburg.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked as a clerk for G.C. Murphy Co. for several years, and then worked as a final inspector at Greenway Shirt Manufacturing in Waynesburg for more than 20 years.
On November 10, 1945, she married Lawrence W. "Bill" Gaus, who died February 23, 1989.
Surviving are a daughter, Sue (William) Dowlin of Waynesburg; a son, Ron (Susan) Gaus of Fairmont, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Bill (Jamie) Dowlin Jr., Michael (Susan) Gaus, Kim Gaus, Steven (Tennille) Dowlin, Kelli Kelly and Scott Dowlin; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Marybelle Adamson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, with the Rev. Robert Bedison officiating.
