Elizabeth Dakes, 87, of McDonald, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.

She was born October 30, 1926, in McKeesport, a daughter of William Perry and Helen Elizabeth Harris Kniepkamp.
Ms. Dakes was a graduate of McKeesport High School and Connelly School of Nursing.
She was a licensed practical nurse from 1975 until 1991.
Ms. Dakes was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Houston.
Surviving are six children, Lois Ann Hall of Tucson, Ariz., Alvin M. Zatezalo (Patty) of Andover, Ohio, Warren M. Zatezalo (Carolyn) of Atlanta, Ga., Sharon L. Mechtel (Jerry) of McDonald, Debbie A. Stadler (George) of Columbus, Ohio, and Sandy L. Wallace of Canonsburg; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Waltower (Keith) of McKeesport.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston. Additional visitation will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, in First United Presbyterian Church, Houston, where services will begin at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Clarejean Haury officiating. Interment will be private.
