Anthony Mario Piccioni, 69, of Pleasant Hills, passed away peacefully Friday, August 8, 2014, in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born October 6, 1944, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Amedeo and Amelia Piccioni.
Mr. Piccioni served as captain of Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Company 1, Lawrence, during the late 1960s.
He attended Ohio State University on a full wrestling scholarship, where he was named most valuable freshman in 1964, co-captain in 1965 and 1966 and was All-American in 1965.
Mr. Piccioni taught industrial arts and was a middle school librarian for West Mifflin School District. He also coached high school wrestling for West Mifflin for 30 years, during which time he had numerous WPIAL and PIAA place finishers. In 1991, his team was Section 3 Champion and he was named Coach of the Year.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 30 years, Maryann (Novosel) Piccioni; beloved children, Monti (Lisa), Lee, Alexandra and Anthony Piccioni; cherished grandchildren, Will, Nicholas, Marina and Dominic; siblings JoAnn Piccioni, Joseph (Danni) Piccioni, Mary Eleanor (Bruce) Broglie, Mike (Maryann) Piccioni, Lucy (Bill) Lash, Angela (Mike) Schlumpf and Theresa (Robert) Semple; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 14, in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Pittsburgh. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
