John R. "Jack" Rodd, 96, of Washington, died Thursday, August 21, 2014.
He was born November 5, 1917, in Canonsburg, a son of Chris and Carrie Hess Rodd.
Mr. Rodd served his country with the U.S. Air Force during World War II, and in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of Chartiers Lodge 297 F&AM, Canonsburg.
He was a final inspector for Fort Pitt Bridge until 1964, when he left and worked for Cooper Industries, until his retirement in 1980.
Surviving are two nephews, John T. Rodd and his wife Sandy of Washington and Robert C. Rodd and his wife Cindy of Lancaster, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Robert C. Rodd.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 25. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Chartiers Lodge 297 F&AM will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 24, in Sollon Funeral Home, Canonsburg.
