Julia M. McAnany

Julia M. McAnany, 93, of Washington, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, after a brief illness.
Born April 14, 1923, in Primrose, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Tornabene.
Mrs. McAnany was a member of Immaculate Conception Church for many years. She was a graduate of Hickory High School and also attended Penn Commercial.
Mrs. McAnany loved gardening and traveling. She was a volunteer with Washington Hospital Auxiliary. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.
On July 17, 1946, she married Howard W. McAnany Jr., who died October 28, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Howard J. (Kathleen) McAnany of Reston, Va., and W. Bart (Kendra) McAnany of New Columbia; three sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Esquino of Pittsburgh, Angie McMurray of Dearborn, Mich., and Mary Helen Matalino of Dearborn; four grandchildren, Jay, Joshua, Molly and Jack A. McAnany; and a great-grandson, Jacob McAnany.
Mrs. McAnany was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Tornabene, and a sister, Charlotte Kaufman.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, PA 15301, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, August 1, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.
