Edward Massengill Obituary

Edward Parker Massengill Jr., 74, of Washington, formerly of Avella, died Monday, May 15, 2017, in his home, surrounded by family.
He was born June 18, 1942, in Monongahela, a son of the late Edward P. Sr. and Sue Sabo Massengill.
Mr. Massengill was a member of United Steel Workers of America.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns and arrowheads and NASCAR.
Mr. Massengill worked as a supervisor for J&L Steel in Aliquippa.
Surviving are two daughters, Debi (Jim "Sleeper") Petras of Washington and Becky (Jerry) Yarkosky of Houston; a son, Eddie (Kerry) Massengill III of Lusby, Md.; eight grandchildren, Cassy (Nick Feeney), Chad (Bev), Shawna, Jerry III, Eddie IV, Emily, Jared and Adam; and four great-grandchildren, Hallie, Emma, Riley and Jensen Lyle.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Leslie Bailey Massengill, who died in 2011; a brother, Jimmy, who died in infancy; and granddaughter Jordan Petras, who died in 2012.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Route 50, Cecil, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, with Pastor Don Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Venice Cemetery, Cecil Township.
