CATES, JR., ELMER WAYNE Ocala - Elmer Wayne Cates, Jr., 85, a farmer, of Sparr, FL, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Elmer was born in Sparr in 1931 to Elmer and Grayton Cates and lived there all his life. Elmer was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Cates in April of 2016. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Cruz of Jensen Beach, FL and son, Gregory Wayne Cates of Louisianna. A visitation will be hosted at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala on Thursday, September 29 from 5-7pm. CHAZAL, MARJORIE  
CHAZAL, MARJORIE TRIMBLE, 89 Ocala - Marjorie Trimble Chazal, 89, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at The Windsor of Ocala. Marjorie Chazal was a native of Moultrie, Georgia and moved to this area in 1950. Mrs. Chazal taught at Ocala High school, volunteered at Munroe Regional Medical Center, taught Sunday school and Training Union for more than four decades at First Baptist Church of Ocala, and served for seventeen years in Bible Study Fellowship. Survivors include spouse, Richard A. Chazal; son, Dr. Richard A. Chazal Jr. wife, Linda; daughter Helen Chazal Leibee husband, Rick; son, Charles P. Chazal wife, Mary; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; niece Polly Trimble Moore; nephews, Quint Trimble, Stuart Trimble, John Reid; and beloved family friend, Rosie Shell. Marjorie was predeceased by her father, Calhoun Quintus Trimble; her mother, Ruth Lyon Trimble; and her brother Carlyle Trimble. Her parents were co-owners and managers of Trimble Lyon Seed Company, Moultrie, Georgia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Ocala, 2 pm, followed by a reception in the church hall. COLE, NORA MINNIS  
COLE, NORA MINNIS, 91 Ocala - Nora Minnis Cole, age 91, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2016, surrounded by her family in Ocala, Florida. Nora was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the daughter of Andrew & May Stevenson Minnis. She married Kenneth Cole on November 29, 1958 in Newark, NJ. Nora held many jobs in her life, including dedicated homemaker, comptometer operator, and sales associate at D.H. Holmes, New Orleans (Dillards). She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Cole; son, Peter Cole (Robert Talbot); son-in-law, John Hoft; grandchildren, Ashley (Malcolm Jr. 'Tony') Autin, Lauren (Joseph) Tyrney, and Andrew Hoft. Nora is preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Linda Cole Hoft. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral and celebration of life service, held at Ocala West United Methodist Church in Ocala, FL on Saturday, September 24 at 2:00pm. CRISS, RICHARD D.  
CRISS, RICHARD D., 90 Silver Springs - Richard D. Criss, 90, of Silver Springs passed away September 24, 2016. Born in Hymera, Indiana, December 8, 1925. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jeanette; children, Tim (Gladys) Criss of Silver Springs, FL, Tom (Donna) Criss of Tallahassee, FL, Cheryl (Gregg) Schilling of Coldwater, MI; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Richard served his country in the US Navy during WWII and then had a 35 year career as a tool and die maker while raising his family in Warren, Michigan. He enjoyed his early retirement years in Lexington Heights, MI and eventually relocated permanently to Silver Springs, FL. A visitation will take place at Baldwin Brothers in Ocala on Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorial service will be at Forest Assembly of God Church on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 4:00 pm.
