O'MALLEY, EDWARD EUGENE (EDDIE)
O'MALLEY, EDWARD EUGENE (EDDIE), 78 Dunnellon - Wait a while! We have lost a great man. Edward Eugene O'Malley (Eddie), 78, of Ocala, FL passed away June 16, 2016. His spirit is carried on through the people he has touched throughout his extraordinary and fun life. Ed was born, grew up and raised his family in Park Ridge, IL. He served his country under the direction of the US Army. He met the love of his life, Norine Farrell in high school and again in college, he fell head over heels and they started their adventure together in 1963. With Norine, he raised four children, hosted thousands of parties (he performed as many party tricks), travelled the country by land and by sea on his 42' Trawler the 'WAIT AWHILE'. Ed and Norine built their dream home in Dunnellon in 2006. Ed was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and COPS - Citizens On Patrol Service in Dunnellon. Lately Ed enjoyed the love and laughter of his wonderful family of friends from Rainbow Springs, cruising in a pontoon on the river, shooting at the gun range, golfing at the Rainbow Springs Golf Course and beating the girls at Sequence. He was the best and proudest Papa there ever was sharing his trickery, smiles, wit and love with his eight grandchildren. He loved, smiled, made everyone laugh along with him and then he laughed some more. Ed is now reunited in heaven with his loving daughter, Shannon M. Goeppinger and his good friend and sister, Joan O'Brien Ward. Ed is survived by his amazing and loving wife, Norine O'Malley; children, Jennifer Bunjan, Brendan Edward O'Malley and Meghan Mangan; siblings, James, Patrick and Kathy O'Malley; grandchildren, Blake Edward, Brant, Gracey, Eric, Hannah, Sarah, Colleen, and David Edward as well as many, many friends and loved ones. A memorial mass will be held at 11AM, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon, FL. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, FL...and so on and so forth....
