Ocala - Carl M. Riese, 67, of Ocala, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 16th, 2013.
He was born and grew up in the McLean/Cortland, New York area and lived in Tully, New York until relocating to Florida in 1988. Carl was a Vietnam War veteran, a member of the Tully American Legion, and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Carl loved to ride motorcycles and snowmobiles, particularly at his camp on the Tug Hill Plateau, New York. He spent his free time tinkering on his many toys. On his trips to New York, he enjoyed his traditional Doug's Fish Fry, Hoffman's hot dogs and Heluva Good cheese.
Carl was pre-deceased by his parents, Morris and Virginia Riese. He is survived by his son, Michael Riese (Meghan), of Tully, New York; his daughter, Michelle McClure (Clayton), of Syracuse, New York; his former wife, Judith Riese, of Tully, New York; his sisters, Linda McHerron and Cheryl (Wayne) Daniels; his brothers, George (Paula) Riese and Ronald (Donna) Riese; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on March 20th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 N.E. Jacksonville Road, Anthony, Florida.
Donations can be made in Carl's name to the American Red Cross.
