Ocala - Carlos Julio Calderon, 84, of Ocala passed away April 21, 2013.
Born in Guateque, Colombia, he came to this area in 1987 from Queens, NY. He was a retired dentist and a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Silver Springs Shores Spanish American Club, Movimiento Juan XXIII, Crusillo De Cristianda and Renovacion Conyugal. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, playing Parcheesi and in recent years spiritual reading.
Mr. Calderon is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Blanca A. Calderon; children, Henry Calderon (Joanna) of Queens, NY, Herman J. Calderon (Monica) of West Orange, NJ and Ruth V. Calderon - Silva (Fernando) of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Justin J. Calderon, Christopher S. Calderon, Shaun D. Calderon, Delia V. Calderon, Miguel Silva and Fernando A. Silva. He was the last surviving brother of eight children in his family.
Visitation will be held at Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce Chapel East, 2739 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala, (732-9944) on Thursday and Friday, April 25 & 26 from 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church 5 SE 17th St, Ocala on Saturday, April 27th at 11:30 a.m. with Father Raul Valdez as Celebrant.
