Ocala - Clayton R. Swain Jr., 65, of Ocala went to be with the Lord on October 28th, 2013.
Born August 2, 1948 to the late Clayton and Dorothy Swain of Old Saybrook, CT. He graduated from Old Saybrook High School in 1966. Upon graduation he entered into the Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam. After being discharged he returned home to serve as a Police Officer with the Old Saybrook Police Department. He then went on to serve with the Police Department in Boynton Beach, Florida where he retired.
After leaving the police department due to disability, he started work as a volunteer with PalTalk Messenger. Later he obtained a position as part-time tech support working from home, as a computer "geek." In his line of work he touched the lives of many around the world, and PalTalk became his second family.
He is predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Knight and his twin brother, Frederick Treadway Swain. He is survived by two sisters, Shirley (Donald) Perring of Crestview, Florida and Bridget Daugherty of Nashville, TN. He has two nieces, Ronda Panucci and Sinder Perring; one nephew, LT. Daugherty; a very special Aunt Margaret Knable of Pittsburgh; Douglas and Mickey McLoughlin; and "Tiny Tim" his precious cat. Sleep tight dear brother, you are safe now in God's care.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Johns Roman Catholic Church, 161 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT on November 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. with a burial to follow at Indian River Cemetery in Clinton.
