Ocala - Emory Edmunds, 84, of Ocala went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
He was born on January 11, 1929 in Jacksonville, FL. He served as a drill Sergeant in the Marine Corps. While stationed in California, he met the love of his life, Peggy whom he married and celebrated their 62nd anniversary shortly before Peggy passed.
After serving for 25 years in the Marine Corps, he retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant and than worked for Day's Inn in Atlanta, GA as head of maintenance for 15 years. He was an honorary member of the Atlanta Falcons. In 1990 he came to Florida.
He is preceded in death by his son, Johnny Edmunds and his beloved wife Peggy, who passed on November 9, 2013. Emory is survived by his sons, Ricky Edmunds of Ocala, David Edmunds and wife Patricia of Katy, Texas; grandchildren; Celeste Covington of North Carolina, Justin Edmunds and wife Shane of palm Harbor, FL and David Edmunds of North Carolina.; also one great grandson, Owen Edmunds of Palm Harbor, FL.
A memorial service will be held at Berean Baptist Church, Ocala on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 10 a.m.. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Ocala. Condolences may be expressed to:
