ETHELBERT "EDDIE", 89
Ocala - Ethelbert "Eddie" Roach, 89, of Ocala entered into heaven on September 24, 2013.
Born May 17th, 1924 to Joseph and Octavia Daniel Roach in The Republic of Panama. He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age. In 1958 he moved to Brooklyn, New York where he stayed for a short time. As a young man he served in the military helping with the Panama Railroad in the Canal Zone. He always enjoyed a good card game and especially getting out of the house to travel and see new places. He was very proud to say he worked for Con Edison where he retired after many years of service to the company.
He is survived by his daughter, Maritza Cannady; two sons, Ricardo Roach and Robert Harmon, adopted son. He also has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 27, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home in Ocala, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at St. George Anglican Church 5646 SE 28th Street in Ocala, where he was a faithful member for many years. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
