Fairmount, GA - Jesse James, 61, of Fairmount GA, passed away after losing his battle with cancer. He was a former resident of Fairfield and Marion County, attending Reddick Elementary and North Marion High School. He was born in Miami, FL, the son of Edith Louise Greenway James and Dwight James.
Jesse was a person with a zeal for his independence from his youth onward. He had his own way of living, thinking, and was a rebel at heart. Due to this, it was often the case he would get into some kind of mischief. He was often at odds with his teachers, family, employers and the long arm of the Law. There were more than a few heartaches with his parents. Everyone reading this who knew Jesse has their own memories and stories; he left many of them. Jesse had a good hearty laugh, great smile and could make friends wherever he lived.
Jesse had a number of skills and abilities which he enjoyed. He was a good mechanic, enjoyed working on his cars, trucks and other vehicles. He was good at plumbing, carpentry, electrical and could repair many things if he had the proper tools. He enjoyed having a garden and giving away what he grew.
He lived for a time in Utah repairing old Military equipment and putting together a water bottling operation. Jesse was always the adventurous soul and willing to try new things. In his travels out West and up towards Alaska, he even tried his hand at gold mining.
Jesse made a profession of his Faith in Christ before his passing which is of great comfort to all who loved him. Survivors include his loving faithful mother, Louise James-Stewart and stepfather Dale Stewart; brother, Frank of Kent, WA; sisters, Marsha Cooper, Linda McGovern, and Ginger Munroe of Fairfield, FL; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at Fairfield Presbyterian Church Saturday, November 24th, 2012 at 2 p.m. The church is located on CR 225, 1.5 miles SW of the Irvine exit off I-75. Rev. Bruce Seaman is the pastor. Online condolences may be expressed at:
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to Omega Health Care (Hospice), 27 Maple Ridge Dr., Suite A, Cartersville, GA 30121, or Fairfield Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 834, Fairfield, FL., 32634.

Come to me, all you who are
weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Rest in peace, Jesse James,
Rest in peace.
