Ocala - Karl E. "Woody" Evick passed away on August 30, 2013. Born May 1, 1939, in Pocahontas, Virginia, to James and Josephine Griffith, he has lived in Ocala for 33+ years.
A veteran in the U.S. Army, he worked as a maintenance mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and fixing cars.
Preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy, Pete, Fred, Eddie and Gary; and one granddaughter, Summer Evick-Bursler; he is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Ray) Blackburn, Smyrna, DE; brother, Charles "Ted" Evick, Wilm, DE; grandchildren, Walter Abel, III, and Jennifer Abel; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, Walter, Kelsey, Alexis, Noah, Amber, Timothy and Anya.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Friday, September 6, 2013, at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Rd., Anthony. Interment to follow in Florida National Cemetery with military honors.
