Margaret "Peg" Francis

FRANCIS,
MARGARET 'PEG', 58
Ocala - Margaret "Peg", Francis, 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Glen Cove, New York, Peg moved to Ocala in 1996 to be near her parents, Alice P. Clingan and the late Calvin C. Clingan of Beverly Hills. Peg enjoyed a lifelong career in the dental field both in New York and in Ocala, retiring from Dr. Lawrence Sutton's office in 2011.
A talented artist whose abilities showed in a variety of ways from creating floral arrangements to crafting jewelry to home decoration, she was also loved for her ability to put other people at ease and to find the humor in any situation. Challenged in recent years by health concerns, she nonetheless found in her faith the strength to persevere, and to always be there for her grandson. Peg enriched all who had the good fortune to know her.
In addition to her mother, Peg is survived by her son, Dr. Gerald Francis, Washington, DC; her daughter, Kelly E. Francis; grandson, Hunter Calvin Francis, both of Ocala; a brother, Thomas (Carol) Clingan, Cohoes, NY; a sister, Kathleen (John) Harrington, Slidell, LA, and five nieces.
We are grateful to Dr. Ketan Doshi and the caring staff of Ocala Oncology for their devoted attention, to her physician Dr. Sharon Marques, and to Hospice of Marion County.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at College Park Church of God, 3140 SW 26th Street in Ocala. Interment will follow in Fero Memorial Gardens in Beverly Hills, Florida. Friends may call at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd in Ocala from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
