Ocala - Martin C. French, 79, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to Ocklawaha in 1982. He was a Lieutenant with the Lynbrook Police Department in New York. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol French of Ocklawaha; daughter, Debbie French of Ilion, NY; daughter, Patty Skidmore of Levittown, NY; son, John French of Orlando; daughter, Suzanne Collazo of Ocala; six grandchildren; and his beloved pets, Peaches and Patches.
A visitation will be held from 1 pm - 3 pm and 5 pm - 7 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd. The visitation will continue on Monday, February 25 from 2 pm - 4 pm.
Always the life of the party, he will be greatly missed.
