Ocala - Marvin E. "Scotty" Scott, of Ocala, passed away at his residence on Friday, March 8, 2013.
Scotty was born on September 24, 1923 in Quitman, GA. He enlisted in the Army of the United States during WWII and fought in the Asiatic Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1945, ending in the Philippines. Mr. Scott was a lifetime member of the DAV and retired from the Florida Department of Corrections in 1990. He also helped to support many Veterans organizations.
He is survived by his lifetime partner, Lora Kuebler; one son, Kenneth J. Griese of Lexington, SC; and two granddaughters, Sarah Lyn Griese of Columbia, SC and Erin Elizabeth Griese of Miami, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, March 12th from 10-11 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church with services at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
