Robert Glenn (Bob) Hemme

Pensacola - Robert Glenn (Bob) Hemme, 51, passed away Friday afternoon, April 5, the result of a traffic accident near his home in Pensacola, Florida. Bob put his hope in Jesus Christ for eternal life.
Bob grew up in the Gainesville area and graduated from PK Yonge High School in 1980, where he played baseball and football. He also starred for the Gainesville American Legion Post 16 baseball team. Bob earned an AA degree from Central Florida Community College in 1982 and graduated with honors from Florida State University in 1984.
Bob's 30 year professional career was as diverse as his many talents. He served as an Air Force officer (flying over 20 missions in Desert Storm), a children's pastor, a probation and parole officer, and a public school teacher. Most recently, Bob was a supply chain manager for Chick-fil-A restaurant and a substitute teacher in Pensacola area schools. He was an avid fisherman and an active certified soccer referee.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 30 years, Sylvia Marlene Jones, and two sons, Cpt. Adam Hemme USMC (Miriam) of Barstow, CA, and Christian Hemme of Pensacola; his parents, David (Barbara) Hemme of Vero Beach, FL, and Ann Hemme of Gainesville; and two brothers, Paul (Naomi) Hemme of Wheaton, MD, and Bill (Tina) Hemme of Dunedin, FL.
