Ocala - Terry has passed on to Heaven to be with her Heavenly Father and reunite with her many loved ones on April 6, 2013.
Terry was born in New York City on July 21, 1930, the fourth of seven children. She moved to South Florida in the late 50's and then to North Florida in 1983. Terry was a very strong active independent woman with a wonderful spirit. She spread laughter and joy wherever she went. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family and friends. She loved living on Lake Lochloosa and enjoyed many beautiful sunsets from her dock.
She loved to cook and was an outstanding one. She also enjoyed racquetball, shuffleboard, working out at the gym, yard work, dancing, music and travel. She was her family's biggest fan, and didn't miss any of her daughter's runs and she was always on the sidelines at her grandchildren's sporting events.
Terry was 100% Irish with beautiful sparkling blue eyes and a loud, unique hearty laugh that was contagious. She was a Catholic and attended Blessed Trinity, Lady of the Springs and St. Theresa Catholic Churches.
Her dedication to her family was apparent when her son John was brain injured in 1978 in a tragic car accident. She put her life on hold and took excellent care of him for eleven years. After John passed, she went full throttle and enjoyed life, always on the run, until Alzheimer's disease struck and slowly took it all away.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Kelvyn Oglesby; grandsons, John Oglesby (Hannah), Evan Oglesby (Tiffany) Brooks Oglesby; granddaughter Madison Oglesby; great-grandchildren, Jane and Jack and two unborn, all of Ocala; sister Helen Hand (Dan) of Orleans, MA; brother Mike Grey (Marilyn) of St. Simons Island, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Bertolami; sons, John and Danny; granddaughter Brooke; parents, John and Catherine Grey of Tyrone County, Ireland; brothers Harry John and Daniel (Dinny) Grey; sister Kathleen (Marie) and Anthony (Nin) Bertolami.
Terry was such an amazing person, truly one of a kind. Her love will live on in all of those she touched.
Funeral Mass will be at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on April 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of her life party at the Ocala Ballroom (wear green or bright colors).
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Blessed Trinity Elder Care.
