Ocala - Tommy Lanier, 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Ocala. A lifelong resident of Florida, he was born in Zolfo Springs on June 20, 1923; son of the late Henry James and Kazzie L. (Crews) Lanier.
He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Tommy was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Helen and son Michael. Tommy is survived by his daughter Marion and sons Steve and Timothy, all of Ocala; six grandchildren and his sister Inez of Spring Hill.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala with a funeral service at 1 p.m. conducted by his nephew, Pastor Shelby N. Lanier. He will be buried next to his wife at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
