Ocala - Victoria "Vicki" Boersma, 67, of Ocala, FL passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012.
She was born in Huntington, Long Island, NY on May 7, 1945. Vicki spent most of her life in Huntington, NY and Stroudsburg, PA until moving to Florida 12 years ago. Vicki had a passion for helping others and during her life she dedicated 25 years as a nurse in both hospitals and nursing homes until her retirement. Vicki loved spending time with her family. She loved the performing arts, helping others, arts and crafts, shopping and crocheting. Vicki has always had a passion for animals and loved her dog Micah. She was an active member of the Cherry Wood community. She also was a member of the Song Birds choral group and Color Guard to support our military troops. She was raised Roman Catholic, participated in many religious events with the Episcopal Church. Her legacy is the open desire to always help others.
Survivors include her ex husband Henry Boersma of Ocala, FL; son Paul Boersma of Ocala, FL; son Mark Boersma of Chicago, IL; brother Vince Ambrosia of Denver, CO; brother Tommy Ambrosia of Stroudsburg, PA; three grandchildren Quinton, Jada and Alexis.
A funeral service will take place at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 7 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 pm until the time of the service at 7pm.
Burial will take place at St Charles Resurrection Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
