Bernard Albert Obituary

ALBERT, BERNARD, 84
Ocala - Bernard (Bud) Albert of Ocala, FL, passed peaceably at age 84 on Monday, May 9, 2011. He was born on July 11, 1926, in Philadelphia, PA, and was formerly of Westwood, NJ. Many knew him from Albert's Westwood Cycle. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Tomoko, a native of Kyushu, Japan; five children: Allan, Sandy, Mark, Anthony, and Midori and their spouses; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren living in New Jersey, North Carolina, Arizona, Mexico and New York. Bud was proud to have served his country for 21 years in the U.S. military from 1942-1964, and he will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery. Bud enjoyed radio control model airplane design, building, and flying. He crafted numerous folk art style garden ornaments, whirligigs, and other specialized custom mementos for his loved ones and friends. An intimate celebration of his life was shared by his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, with the family's gratitude. Bud's family extends their appreciation to all those who helped make his life memorable. In his passing, with his family gathered around, Bud showed us all noble courage and amazing strength. May his spirit dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever.
