Ocala Collins "Collie" Hendrickson, age 79, a Baptist, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2013.
Collie was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War. He was born in Long Island, NY to George and Lila Hendrickson, and moved to Ocala 36 years ago. He worked as a Fire Safety Inspector for the Marion County School Board.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Hendrickson; son, Collins Hendrickson Jr., Apopka, FL; daughters, Sharon Hendrickson Sheffield, Melrose, FL; Colleen Hendrickson Webber, Ocala, FL. He was the indescribably proud grandfather (Pop), of nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Collie wanted to be remembered as happy, fun-loving, care-free, and one who lived life to the fullest. He loved sports and above all loved the Lord Jesus Christ who made all things possible in his life. A celebration of Collie's life will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2013, at Wyomina Park Baptist Church, with Reverend Bob King officiating. Arrangements by Countryside Funeral Home.
