DELANA DEEANN, 47
Ocala - Delana DeeAnn Sanchez-Wengler, 47, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.
She was born in Ocala on Feb. 13, 1966, the second child of Broward and Linda Sanchez, making Diana Lyn a big sister for the first time.
From a very early age DeeAnn would light up a room with her smile and bubbly personality, earning her the lifelong nickname "Smiley".
At the age of 16, she dedicated her life to Jehovah God and symbolized that dedication with water baptism becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She graduated from Forest High School, Class of 1984.
She enjoyed interacting with people, sharing her faith and always making everyone feel comfortable and happy in her presence.
She cherished family summers spent on Lake Weir where she was notorious for her expert skills as a slalom water skier, often passing neighbors docks soaking them with her spray as she whistled and waved with her famous smile.
DeeAnn married her first love Ben Wengler and they were blessed with four beautiful children, Lacee Ellesse, Travis Broward, Broward Landin and Storm Sanchez.
On October 31, 2003, she and her families lives changed forever when her youngest son Storm passed away tragically and she was left paralyzed from an accident on the same day.
Despite her poor physical state and infirmities, in true "Smiley" form she pressed on and made the best of her new life relying on her lifelong bible based faith and hope for the future.
She is survived by three of her children, Lacee Flesher and her husband Blake, Travis and Broward Wengler; her parents, Broward and Linda Sanchez; three sisters, Diana Piccione, Dana Scott and Debra McInnis; three nephews, Drake Piccione, Brody and Slater McInnis.
Please join her family Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 4 p.m. where her life and faith will be celebrated at a memorial in her honor at Ocala South Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3660 SW 7th Place, Ocala Florida. For info call Broward (352)342-0646.
