GEORGE VINCENT, 72
Ocala - George Vincent Mitchell Jr., 72, retired floor maintenance technician at Marion Community Hospital, now the Ocala Regional Medical Center, transitioned from his Earthly house to his Heavenly home on Monday, December 3, 2012 at approximately 4 a.m. at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Grovel, FL. They moved to Citra, FL where he was raised the majority of his life. He studied at Fessenden School in Martin, FL. He was a member of Willow Plant Missionary Baptist Church in Citra. He was a member of Seminole Lodge #47 F&A.M. in Williston, of the Meridian Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Ancient York Rite Masons of the State of Florida where he served as Junior Warden.
He leaves to celebrate his transition, his wife of 36 years, Effie Yolanda Joshua-Mitchell of Citra, FL; his children, Linda Rochelle of Gainesville, FL, Lorenzo Mitchell (Celeste) of Micanopy, FL, Bonnie Burke (Tony) of Ocala, FL, Johnny Thomas of Texas, Floyd C. Parker II (Tonja), Ocala, FL; Godson, Christopher Williams Sr. of Ocala, FL, nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Morrow of Tampa, FL, Hattie Sue Turner (James) of Citra, FL, Patricia Mitchell (Leroy) of Tampa, Viola Mitchell (Fred), Ocala, Eugene Mitchell Sr. (Nora) of Citra, Mary Mosley (Prophet Mike) of Anthony, Patricia Mitchell (Leroy) of Tampa, Fredrick Mitchell (Elaine) of Bradley, FL, Willie C. Mitchell (Ann) of Citra, Frenchie Gordon (Roger) of Hawthorne, Cora Mitchell of Hawthorne, Evangelist Helen Turner of Citra, Louise Manns, of Citra; aunt, Theresa E. Floyd, Forestville, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
There will be a wake held on December 6, 2012 at Willow Plant Missionary Baptist Church Citra from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral Services for Mr. George Vincent Mitchell Jr. will be held on December 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Church of God by Faith, True Holiness, and Righteousness: 16655 N.E. Jacksonville Road, Citra, FL, 32113 with Pastor Ruby Graddic, Pastor Reverend Dwayne L. Williams, presiding and his Pastor, Reverend Joe Henry Wright Jr., Eulogist. Interment will be in the Citra Community Cemetery in Citra under the care of Summers Funeral Home Inc., 2238 NW 10th Street Ocala, FL 34475 (352-351-0566). Visitation on Friday at Summers from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Church 10 a.m. until time of service; there will be no viewing after the eulogy.
