REIER, HOWARD ARTHUR
Ocala - Howard Arthur Reier, 85, of Ocala, FL went home to be with the Lord May 11, 2018. Howard was a devoted family man and a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served as a council member. Howard loves music, playing piano and amateur radio. Howard served his country in the United States Navy and completed a tour in the Korean War. Howard also served his community as a Police Officer in Washington DC and served in the Judicial system in South Dakota. Upon his arrival in Florida he was active in real estate and property appraiser. He was also active as a Mason and was the state king of Florida in the TOPS club. Howard was a loving man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Those left to keep his memory alive are his beloved wife, Doris Reier; his children, Howard Reier, Jr., Debbie Pastion, Robert Bellis, Monica West, George Bellis, Kathy Westfall, Michael Salter; his son-in-laws; daughter-in-laws; eighteen grandchildren; and many great grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as Pops.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Diane Reier.
The family will be having calling hours at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 SE Silver Spring Blvd. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, with Howard's celebration of life service on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 am at the funeral chapel, with the committal service at Florida National Cemetery at 1:00 pm with Navy honors.
