KUYKENDALL,
HOWARD A., JR.
Ocala - Howard Alvin Kuykendall Jr. left this earth peacefully on June 3rd, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends as he made his way to eternal happiness and comfort.
"Howie" was born to Howard Alvin Kuykendall Sr. and Marjorie Cadmus Kuykendall in Paterson, New Jersey on June 14th, 1938. He grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Dumont High School in 1956.
He proudly served in the National Guard for six years in the 50th Armor Division as a Sergeant. He worked for Exxon before beginning a long career with C.A. Reed. The company moved him and his family to Williamsport, Pennsylvania and one more time to Ocala, Florida where he planted his roots. His career with C.A. Reed, led him to eventually starting his own sales and marketing business, H.K. Marketing.
Howie was a friend to many, uncle to several, grandpa to seven, dad to three, brother to two and fiancé to one.
His laugh was contagious. His jokes were tireless. His love was never ending. His kindness was unmatchable. He spent countless hours on his boat in the Gulf of Mexico fishing, scalloping and enjoying time with friends and family. If he wasn't on his fishing boat, you could often find him hunting with his brother Gary in Pennsylvania, or at the hunt club in Georgia with his trusting four-legged friend, Bramble, by his side.
Howie was a proud member of the Ocala Elks Lodge 286. He loved to make treks across the country to spend time with his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Conversations with Howie usually started with a simple, "How are you?" to which he would respond, "If I were any better, I'd be a twin". Howie's glass was always half full. He will be deeply missed.
Howie leaves behind his loving fiancé, Barbara Fontaine; his brother, Gary Kuykendall (Duane); his sister, Lois Holmstrom; his son, Kenny Kuykendall (Puoy Premsrirut), his son, Brian Kuykendall (Denae); and his daughter Deidre Pieretti (John); as well as his seven grandchildren, Caden Kuykendall, Zane Kuykendall, Hudson Kuykendall, Jaiden Pattenaude, Makena Pieretti, Tessa Pieretti and Jax Pieretti.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 3rd, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ocala Elks Lodge 286, 702 N.E. 25th Ave., Ocala Florida 34470.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Ocala Elks Lodge 286.
