James Cauthen Obituary

CAUTHEN, JAMES M.
On Friday, May 13, 2011, the hearts of Mr. James Maurice Cauthen's family were deeply saddened at the passing of their beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Mr. Cauthen was born in Ocala on November 24, 1928 to Charles and Iona Cauthen. He and his six brothers lived in Marion County until he joined the Army. He served in combat in the 11th Airborne in the Korean War, and then came home to become Wildwood's Chief of Police, then a Florida Highway Patrolman. He retired after a long career in the manufactured housing industry. He met and married the love of his life, Rose, in 1952.
He was a constant inspiration, role model and friend to everyone in his life. He was an avid sportsman and musician, but nothing was more important to him than his family and friends. He was cherished by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Rose, brothers: Raymond, Charles, twin Marion, Jimmie and Curtis, and sister Mary Alice. He is survived by his brother Earl and wife Alvie of St. Augustine, FL; daughter, Marian Elaine Page; sons: Jerry Cauthen and wife, Karen, Mike Cauthen and wife, Dianne, Greg Cauthen and wife, Diana, all of Sparr; daughter, Susan Adams of Ocala, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" service at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Roberts Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, 606 S.W. 2nd Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34471 with Pastor Chris Watts, officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
