Ocala - Vermelle C. Knowles died Saturday, December 8, 2012, three weeks from her 90th birthday, in TimberRidge Nursing Center. She was born in Miami, Florida on December 29, 1922 to Paul and Minnie Cowart.
Melle attended Miami High and later, college at TCU. After being quietly married in Stuart, FL, she moved to Auburn to be with her husband, Robert P. Knowles, who was attending Veterinary School.
In 1987, her husband passed away and Melle took on a new challenge, Captain of the Tennis team in Winston Park. This along with a passion for world travel became her major interests.
She will be sorely missed by her friends and family and there will always be a place in our hearts that no one else can fill. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Marcia Faultnor.
Vermelle is survived by son, Marc and his wife Charisse; her dearest cousin, Reah Dawn; son-in-law, Fred, two granddaughters; Kimberly, Ashley and their children.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home Timberridge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, Florida.
