Ocala - Oscar Lee Erwin went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 27, 2012. He was born September 2, 1921, to Glen Erwin and Cozy Johnson, Cranberry Township, North Carolina. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Ocala. He is survived by his wife, Kitty, Ocala; son, Danny and grandsons, Joshua and Aaron Erwin, South Daytona; daughters: Debbie James and family, Citra; Cara Marple and family, Spout Spring, Va.; sons: Robert Wade, Las Vegas, Nev.; Roger Wade and family, Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Norma Teel and family, Louisville, Ohio; many other family members, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by infant son, Stewart Wayne, and brother Glen Erwin. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946. He was retired from the Florida Department of Transportation. He loved golfing and driving cars. He taught square dancing throughout Central Florida for over 30 years. His two greatest loves were God and family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., May 5, 2012, at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Wade officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund or to Hospice of Marion County.
