Ocala - Dr. Ronald Denver Davis, Colonel, VC, USAR (RET), 67, of Ocala, FL, died on Monday, April 30, 2012, at his residence of natural causes. Ron was born in Oakland, CA, on October 7, 1944, the son to Mildred Schoonover of Jacksonville, FL, and the late Denver Earl Davis (Martha Davis). He served for over 40 years with the U.S. Army Veterinary Corp. He was also a retired pilot for DHL and lived and worked all around the world. His number one passion was flying and recently was teaching flying classes at OTOW. Ron took advantage of archeology classes and other educational opportunities at "Master The Possibilities" at OTOW. He was an accomplished, self taught pianist. Besides his mother, Ron is also survived by his children: Cortland Starrett (Roxanna) of Brookston, IN, and Tanya Magnon (Phillip) of Alpharetta, GA; sisters: Linda Davis (Joel Sigeti) and Jill Davis-Prickett (David), all of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Lucas, Hannah, Levi and Ruby Starrett and Lauren and Jacob Magnon; nieces: Katelyn and Adrienne Sigeti.
