Ocala - Marion "Snooks" Swinn, 75, of Ocala, Florida, passed on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Ocala.
She was born in Verona, N. Dakota on May 22, 1938; daughter to the late Fred and Marion E. (Fitzsimmons) Brademeyer, Sr. She started her nursing career as a graduate from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Chicago, IL and later her Master's Degree. She served as a pioneer in the medical field having served as the first night shock trauma charge nurse at John Hopkins Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. She later transitioned in to developing and instructing utilization review at medical centers nationwide. When she moved to Ocala in 1984 she, along with her loving husband Rick formed the Scottish Society of North Central Florida. Until her illness she was active with the altar ministry at Meadowbrook Church, Ocala.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 34 years, Rick Swinn of Ocala; children; Brad, Sheryl, Sheila, Paulette and Linda; seven grandchildren; one great grandson, Brooks; siblings Fred, Jr., Donna and Bobby and her canine companion Goober.
A Memorial Service will be held at the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-Baxley, Ocala on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 3:00PM with her personal friend and pastor, Rev. Scott Sibinski of Meadowbrook Church, Ocala officiating. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Legacy House, 9505 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL 34481.
