Mrs. Edith Coy Mack was born on July 21, 1911 in Cotton Plant, Florida. She was the third child born to Tillman and Ruthie Carter Coy. She was the last survivor of eight siblings She attended Marion County public School System. Mrs. Mack was very astute, quick, and brilliant with numbers. She became a domestic worker for Holiday Inn where she worked until she retired; to include being a Domestic Engineer for the Kirk family Mrs. Mack professed her faith and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was an active member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Ocala, Florida. There she served in various capacities to include Trustee Board, Senior Choir, and Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Mack completed this walk of life on June 12, 2014.
Memories of her life will be cherished by Andrew Burton Mack, Elijah Mack, Lorene Mack-Colbert, & Ida Mack-Rush (William). Her grandchildren Nathaniel Wilkerson, Diana Wilkerson-Tyson, Gary Wilkerson, Jackie Mack, Patti Mack, Lisa Colbert-Cummings, Robert Colbert, Steven Colbert, Carol Colbert, Tiffany Colbert, Sandra Mack-Gillespie, Gerald Mack, Pamela Rush-Williams, LaKisha Rush, Linda Hardy, Andrew Mack, Rutha Walker, and Lawanda Carey. In addition 89 Great-Grandchildren, 20 Great Great-Grandchildren, two God-Daughters Ethel McQueen and Mae Hellon Wheeler; and a host of other family members and endearing friends.
Celebrating the Life and Legacy and Spirit of Edith Coy Mack will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. on June 21, 2014 at Zion United Methodist Church 501 NW MLK Ave. A wake service will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday June 20, 2014 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist 1155 SW 123rd Terrace.
