Gainesville - Mr. Michael Joe Pittman, 67, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 20th 2014. Mr. Pittman was an electrician for the City of Gainesville for 20 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force serving two tours of duty in Vietnam with the 'Red Horse', a combat engineer unit. He was also a member of the I.B.E.W. Electrician Union. Michael loved to fish & enjoyed his work but his top priority was spending time with his family.
Survivors are his wife, Vassie Pittman; two sons, Michael Joe Pittman II, Chief Warrant Officer-2, Matthew Guy Pittman (wife) Heather and one sister, Betty Willis.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Knauff Funeral Home-Williston with visitation one hour prior to Service. Rev. Murry Musselman will be officiating.
Knauff Funeral Home-Williston in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Alachua County.
