Charles E. Cook, 72, passed away Tuesday June 7, 2011 peacefully in his home in Lancaster, PA, surrounded by the love of his family after a long and valiant struggle with Parkinson's disease. He was under the care of Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late Raymond K. and Edna (Carter) Cook. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Boon) Cook for 20 years and devoted father of three daughters, Traci (Cook) married to Michael Collins of Ocala, FL, Cindy (Cook) married to Chuck Stegall of Ft. McCoy and Ashlea (Cook) married to Mac McKeithen of Citra, step-father to Ben Stuart and Sarah (Stuart) Hornig, loving grandfather to Noah and Zachary Stegall, Caleb McKeithen, Hunter and Austin Hornig, and Joshua, Dillon, Olivia and Haley Stuart. Charlie was a State Farm Insurance agent in Ocala, FL, for over 27 years. Beyond career, he dedicated himself to the community through several athletic associations. For over two decades he worked as an umpire and referee for area high school and youth organizations. As a CFCC Basketball and Ocala Women's Softball coach, Charlie was committed to giving back. He used his God-given athletic talent to teach and enrich others. He was often referred to as a legend in the community for his tireless acts of helping those around him. The Celebration of Charlie's Life will be on Saturday, June 18, at 11 AM in the Oakcrest Baptist Church, 1109 Northeast 28th Street, Ocala, FL., 34470.
