Ocala - On July 24th, 2012 at the age of 87, Gerard George Rosenkranz of Ocala, FL, passed away.
He was the beloved husband of 58 years, to the late Margaret Rosenkranz; dear friend of Edith Weinman of Ocala; loving father of Geraldine Chernowetz of NJ, Thomas of PA, John (Sharon) of NJ, James (Melanie) of PA, and Regina Coeby of NJ; proud grandpa of Thomas, James, John, Jennifer (Michael) Snyder, Sarah, Natalie (Jason) Gawaldo, Johnny, and Allison Coeby; great-grandpa of Cecilia Gawaldo, Jack Snyder, and Baby Gawaldo.
Jerry served in WWII under Patton's Third Army and first saw action at the Battle of the Bulge with the Fourth Armored Division. He also saw action in four other major battles in Europe.
Born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he began a banking career there, where he met his future wife. In later years they successfully established and managed J. G. Ross and Associates, a manufacturing supplier in central NJ. After retiring, Jerry and Margaret moved to Oak Run in Ocala, where they were active in many social and dancing clubs. Jerry also enjoyed playing tennis and poker.
For several years in FL he fostered his lifelong interest in magic, performing in the Ocala area under the stage name of "Gerraldo". More recently he enjoyed the social and dancing clubs with his friend, Edie.
A private service will be held in Ocala at a later date. Roberts Funeral Homes Bruce Chapel West made the arrangements.
