Summerfield - Paul G. Badertscher, Jr., 89 of Summerfield entered into eternal rest Wednesday, November 14, 2012.
Born in Neptune, OH he resided in Detroit, MI for many years before coming to Summerfield in 1988. He was retired executive chauffer for General Motors Corp. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed listening to religious hymns. Paul was a beloved family man who cherished his wife and family. He was a stay at home man who found his greatest joy being with his family.
He was sadly predeceased by his beloved wife Gladys (Palenkas) Badertscher who passed in 2007. He leaves his loving children, Gail Platt and special friend and caregiver Raymond Desautels of Summerfield; Douglas P. Badertscher and wife Jamie of Sarasota, FL; Denise Hack and husband John of White Lake, MI; Dennis Badertscher and wife Cyndi of Melbourne, FL; his siblings, Jeannette Cornell of St. Petersburg, FL; Kay Holliday of Las Vegas, Nevada and Robert Badertscher of Fort Worth, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 9 - 10 a.m.
