Ocala - Kenneth H. Eggers, 87, passed peacefully at his home on Monday, January 14, 2013. He was born in Utica, N.Y. and raised in Whitesboro, N.Y. by his parents, Henry and Benita Eggers.
Ken served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a Mason for 60 years and a member of the Reception Caravan of Ziyara Temple, AAONMS, Utica, N.Y. and a member of the New Hartford, N.Y. Elks Club.
Ken was the owner of an oil distributorship in Clinton, N.Y. for many years.
He and his wife, Jean moved from Barneveld, N.Y. to Ocala, FL in 1981 and lived in Rolling Greens. While in Ocala, Ken was a member of the Shrine Club and it's golf league. He became a member of the Silver Springs Shores Elk Club. Ken was a member and Elder of the Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean of Ocala; his sister-in-law, Arlene and husband, Walter Scheer; and another sister-in-law, Isabelle Rogal; as well as his loving nieces and nephews and so many wonderful neighbors.
Ken was preceded in death by his daughter Janice in 2009.
A memorial service will be held in the Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 26th, 2013 at 12 noon, followed by a luncheon in the Lee Building on campus.
His cremains will be interred in the Cloister Garden at the church.
