Ocala- Lucile Doud Skaggs Stewart, 96, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Ocala Regional after a brief illness.
She was born in New Orleans, LA, on February 25, 1916 to the late Dr. Blanche and Noel Judson Doud and grew up in Jacksonville, FL. Lucile was active in the Ocala Women's Club. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Ocala and belonged to the Faith Church Circle. Lucile was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Elks Club, and was retired from the Marion County Tax Appraiser's office where she worked as a receptionist.
Lucile loved any occasion to gather with her many friends and family. She is preceded in death by two husbands, Allen O. Skaggs Jr.; Robert Lee Stewart and sister, Constance Ogier. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Fred) Thierer, Nancy (Don) Werhner; grandchildren, Allen (Jamie) Thierer; Ashley (Grant) Rembert, Kim (Bill) Atkins; Carey Mack; Nicole Werhner; Donnie Werhner; four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering on Saturday, January 26 from 11 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. when a celebration of life will take place at Roberts Bruce Chapel East, 2739 SE Maricamp Rd, Ocala.
