Anthony - Edgar Alvin Hooker, 80, passed away March 6, 2013, at home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Marion County.
He was born June 26, 1932, in Anthony, FL, to the late James and Alice Hooker. Mr. Hooker was a lifetime resident and descendant of the early pioneer families of Anthony.
He was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. Edgar was employed with the Marion County Road Department for 27 years. He was well known in the farming community for his produce and homemade sugar cane syrup of Spring Hill Farm. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Anthony. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Hooker; son, Doug Hooker, Ocala; two daughters, Linda Paschall, Ocala; Christina Scott, Silver Springs; sister, Lucille Cordrey, Ocala; brother, Virgil Hooker, Gainesville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Anthony, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Johnson officiating.
