Ocala - Hugh A. O'Brien, 69, of Ocala passed away January 25, 2014.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he came to this area about 50 years ago from Hollywood, FL. He was a U.S. Army sharpshooter and Veteran of the Vietnam War receiving two Bronze Service Stars and an Air Medal and was the owner/operator of Hugh O'Brien Concrete Company of Ocala.
The family attended Living Waters Worship Center and he was recently saved. Mr. O'Brien enjoyed boating, RV camping, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Cynthia J. O'Brien; children, Eric S. O'Brien, Christopher P. O'Brien (Autumn D.) and Matthew R. O'Brien all of Ocala; siblings, Thomas F. O'Brien and Anne Bright of Ocala, Dorothy Scott of Dunnellon, FL, Georgia Brown of Inglis, FL, Barbara O'Brien of Texas and Kathy O'Brien of Zephyrhills, FL; grandchildren, Alexia K., Aubrey A., Ariella D. and Ashlyn T. O'Brien all of Ocala.
Visitation will be held at Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce Chapel East, 2739 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala 732-9944 on Saturday, February 1st from 1-2PM. Funeral Services will follow at 2PM at the Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Monday (Feb. 3rd) at 1PM. A condolence message can be left at:
