Augusta, GA - George Thomas Neupauer passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. He was 67 years of age.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Westview United Methodist Church with Reverend Anita Brown officiating and Don McCall delivering the eulogy. Full military honors will follow the service at the church with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Monday, April 21.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westview United Methodist Church in Ozark, AL or to St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Ocala, FL (Building Fund) or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Dale County Humane Society in Ozark, AL., or to Gideons International.
Mr. Neupauer was born February 21, 1947 to Joseph and Susan Neupauer in Perth Amboy, NJ. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and was medically discharged from the U.S. Army in 1982 after being diagnosed with M.S. Mr. Neupauer resided in Ocala, FL from 1982 until 2005.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lillian Neupauer; his brothers, Leo and Victor Neupauer and his nephew, Rick Hoffsummer.
Mr. Neupauer is survived by his wife of 31 years, Charlotte C. Sutton Neupauer of Ozark, AL; his daughter, Jennifer Wicks (Chris) of Puyallup, WA; his son, Justin Sutton of Ozark, AL; his grandchildren, Alex and Madissen Wicks of Puyallup, WA; his brother, Joseph Neupauer (Carloyn) of Tampa, FL; his sisters, Evelyn Girouard of Gainesville, FL, Marie Hoffsummer of Metuchen, NJ and Peggy Byers Neupauer of Jacksonville, FL; also surviving are his seven nieces and six nephews, and two special nieces, Sheri Riley and Telisa Glover.
