Dunnellon - Krista Renee McDonell (Salinas), 32, of Dunnellon, joined the Lord's angels on Monday, February 1, 2016, at home. She was born October 17, 1983, in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of Yolanda Chance and Thomas Salinas, Jr.
Krista attended Dunnellon High School in Dunnellon, Florida. On November 15, 2008 she was united in marriage to Charles 'Chuck' McDonell in Dunnellon. She was previously employed as a receptionist at Rainbow River Animal Hospital in Dunnellon. In her spare time she enjoyed animals, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband and daughter on the boat.
She is survived by her husband, Charles 'Chuck' McDonell of Dunnellon; daughter, Charlee 'Barbie' Claire McDonell of Dunnellon; mother, Yolanda Chance of Dunnellon; father, Thomas Salinas, Jr. of Germany; stepmother, Sylvia Salinas of Germany; two grandmothers, Tommy Beal of Tampa and Cleo Salinas of Jacksonville; four sisters, Jennifer Murch of Ocala, Jocelyn Salinas of Germany, Erika Salinas of Germany, and Maria Salinas of Ponte Vedra; a niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Charles William McDonell, Juan Beal, and Tomas Carlos Salinas; great grandmother Annie Lou Horne
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 6 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon with Pastor Eddie Fulford officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Suntrust bank FBO daugher Charlee Claire McDonell college fund.
