Panske, Vernon
Vernon Panske 83, Oconto, lost his courageous 7 year battle with cancer on March 28, 2013. He was born June 11, 1929 in Marinette to the late Wilbert and Emily (Todzy) Panske. He attended schools in Porterfield and Marinette. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On August 23, 1958 Vernon married Arlyss Sulk at St. Anthony's Church, Marinette. Vern was the owner and operated Panske Forest Products until retiring in 1994. During his retirement he enjoyed gardening and selling his vegetables. Vernon was a Boy Scout leader, Little League coach, he also sponsored a Little League team for several years. He was a member of the AMVETS Post #63, Oconto, serving as Commander for several years. He was also belonged to D.A.V. of Oconto County, the Knights of Columbus and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Arlyss, seven children Dean, Maribel; Lynne (Richard) McFadden, Oconto; Kevin and special friend Teri, Porterfield; Gene (Julie), Bonduel; Leon and special friend Carrie, Oconto Falls; Todd (Michelle), Oconto; Randy (Tina) Pulaski. Fourteen grandchildren Travis (Jennifer), Robin, Brandon, Ryan, Matthew, Mitchell (Kaylee), Chad (Andie), Chantelle, Bradley, Carime (Luke), Justin, Marissa, Dalton, Brooklyn; six great-grandchildren Christian, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Cashton, Millie and Talon. Four sisters Lorraine (Virgil) Thomson, Coleman; Jane (Ray) Walters, Green Bay; Judy (Ken) Beyer, Marinette; and Marlene (Larry) Roetzer, Marinette. One sister-in-law Eleanor Panske, Peshtigo. He was preceded in death by one infant brother Michael, one brother Harold, one sister Rosann Kolberg. Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Oconto from 9 AM Tuesday until the Funeral Cortege leaves for church. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto with Father Joel Sember officiating. The Shawano AMVETS Post #10 in combination with the Oconto Post #63 will conduct Military Rites after Mass. Interment will be at a later date in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Marinette.
