Felix, Elizabeth
Elizabeth L. "Betty" Felix (nee Ragen) passed away November 20, 2017 at Bellin Health Oconto Hospital. She was born in Oconto January 10, 1927. Daughter of the late Carney and Verna (Colson) Ragen. Betty graduated from Lena High School in 1945. She went to Aeronautics School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but became ill and came back to Oconto in December of 1945. She then went to Detroit, Michigan and worked for Wendell Anderson, President of Bundy Tubing Company, in their private home. The Anderson's took Betty to Bermuda twice. Later, Betty moved to Manitowoc and worked in the office of Sears, at Beerntsen's Candy and was a waitress at Kries Restaurant. In 1952, Betty went to work at Manitowoc Ship Building as a clerk typist in the drafting department for Arthur Zuehlke. Later, Betty was transferred to Manitowoc Engineering for a total of 37 years. Betty dated Morris Grotbeck for 17 years. Morris preceded Betty in death in 1966. On July 4, 1975, Betty became engaged to Robert C. Felix. They were married in June of 1978. Bob preceded Betty in death on March 9, 1998. Betty was a member of the American Auxiliary since 1955 and a member of AARP since 1986.
Betty is survived by sisters, Georgiana (Richard) Risch, Mary (Jim) Sharkey, Carmen (Virgil) Sharkey, Pat Peterson and brother-in-law, Tom Bridges. Also many nieces, nephews and Bob Felix's relatives. Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Bernetta (Eldren) LaRose, Delores Vugrinovich, Clara (Earl) Wusterbarth, Kathy Bridges, Donna Covert, Jean Amann; brothers, Jack (Jane) Ragen, Dudley (Sue) Ragen, and Bob Felix's son, John Felix.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 9 to 11 AM Friday November 24, 2017. Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Craig Alwin. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
