Jensen, Ellen R.

Ellen R. Jensen, age 105, Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Ellen was born in Galisburg, Wis. to the late Walter and Edith (Short) Keesler on June 2, 1908. The family moved to Lakewood where she grew up on a farm. She attended school there and went to High School in Oconto Falls. On Jan. 11, 1927 she was united in marriage to Elof Jensen. They lived and raised their family in Mountain. Ellen was a wonderful mother to Walter, Janet, Rita, Leon and David. She was a much loved grandma to Robin Reed, Joe (Liz) Reed, Susan (Bell) Krejcarek, Richard (Paula) Reed, Sam (Kris) Reed, Cathy (Todd) Heggesta, Sue Ann Ruby, Annette Jensen, Jeff (Shannon) Jensen, David Lukowicz and Christine Lukowicz; and to 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Ellen was a true people person, if you met her once you were her friend. Her interests were many sewing and all textile arts, bird watching, traveling, card playing and cooking for everyone. She is probably best known as the cook from Mountain School. She was a woman of strong faith who raised her family to lean on Jesus.

Ellen is survived by her son, Leon (Val) Jensen of Green Bay; her two daughters, Janet Reed of Mountain; Rita Cannella of Texas; sisters-in-law, Josephine Jensen and Ruth Keesler and many grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elof Jensen; 2 sons, David and Walter Jensen; grandchildren, Michael Cannella, Amy Jensen, Robin Reed; sons-in-law Benjamin Cannella and Joseph Reed; daughter-in-law, Jane Jensen; brothers, Levi, Lyoyd, and Clifford Keesler.
