William R. Murphy, 72, Oconto, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at home. Bill was born Oct. 15, 1939, in Grimms, Wis., to the late Jack and Mary (Stepman) Murphy. He married Phyllis Hoppe on Nov. 5, 1983. Bill drove pop truck for Howard Huisman, worked for the Oconto Brewing Co., Cruiser Yachts, and for Green Bay Packaging, and was there for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto.
Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis Murphy, Oconto; pet Orpie; two sisters, Sis Jessogne, Kansas; Pat (Mel) Rodgers, Mich.; two brothers, Mike (Ceil) Murphy, Appleton; Jerry (Sandy) Murphy, Appleton; two brothers-in-law, Dick Medd, Oconto; Charlie Pallach, California; and many nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Murphy; two sisters, Mugs Pallach and Tootie Medd; and one brother-in-law, Russ Jessogne.
The family received relatives and friends at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 12, 2012. A Memorial Mass was celebrated noonTuesday at the church with the Rev. Jack Harper officiating. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family.
